April 15, 2013 Buckeye Community Health Plan will start using one Payor ID for electronic claim submissions on our Medicaid and Medicare Plans. The Payor ID has changed to 68069. Emdeon will continue to accept our old Payor ID until July 15, 2013 and after July 15, 2013 any claim will reject for an invalid Payor ID. For questions please call our EDI area at 1-800-225-2573 ext. 25525.

New Prior Authorization Policy When Buckeye is Secondary Payer

Effective March 1, 2013, claims for services requiring prior authorization by Buckeye that have been authorized by the primary insurer will be processed by Buckeye regardless of whether the provider obtained prior authorization from Buckeye. This only applies to those services that have been paid by a primary insurer. It is the provider’s responsibility to confirm the primary benefits and payment requirements. Please note that sterilization, abortion or a hysterectomy does require a completed consent form to be considered for payment.

Buckeye Community Health Plan (Buckeye) has been approved byt he Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to serve the Medicaid Covered Families and Children (CFC) consumers in the East Central and Northwest regions, and the Aged, Blind and Disabled consumers in the East Central, Northeast, and Southwest regions.

Below we have listed information that will assist non-contracted providers in the treatment of Buckeye members who present at those facilities for services covered by Medicaid. Should a Buckeye member present for services, contracted Buckeye providers for pharmacy, laboratory or radiology must be used. Our contracted providers are found in the document below. Please use the BCHP At-A-Glance document for further information about our program.

Buckeye Launches New Provider Portal

On December 28, Buckeye Community Health Plan (Buckeye) launched its new provider portal. The secure provider portal is a feature that provides real-time information in a protected online environment to help you manage your practice, provide care, and interact with Buckeye at your convenience.

There are many great features of the new provider portal. Providers will have access to authorization services, including pre-screening tools and pending authorization lists, and electronic health records (EHR). The EHR contains data on members’ medical services including doctor visits, emergency room visits, and recently filled prescriptions.

The new portal will also feature Care Gap. These alerts notify providers of specific care that a patient may need based on a member’s eligibility and most recent claims data.
